What are the steps involved in the interior design process? Here is a breakdown of the services we most commonly employ:
-
Initial consultation scheduled at your site or in our office
-
Build a blueprint using design software, beginning with just a skeletal layout of the space, and furniture configuration
-
Decide on built-in aspects like custom cabinetry, wall mouldings, doors and windows
-
Tie together color schemes, surfaces, flooring, and rugs, including all materials & finishes
-
Configure lighting, window coverings, and all fixtures
-
Select furniture, art, electronics and accents, all orchestrated around a central focal point (This could also include searching for antiques and rare items, or for merchandise from other countries; and integrating your own possessions like photographs and collectibles into the new space)
-
Gather a detailed estimate which includes all design work, labor, materials, and all specific items
-
Draw up a written agreement covering costs, services, any interruptions, and especially, the possibility of variations from the original blueprint
-
Select all required professionals through the bidding process
-
Coordinate all on-site labor amongst installation specialists, painters, craftsmen and other workers;
-
Organize deliveries on a set timeline
